Youtube備忘録 Leon de Saint-Lubin
Violinist Anastasia Khitruk Records Chamber Works By Saint-Lubin
June 27, 2008
Naxos is undertaking a new series dedicated to rarely heard or virtually unknown 19th century virtuoso violin music, in collaboration with today’s top violinists. As part of this ongoing project, recent sessions were held to record the music of the little known composer/violinist Leon de Saint-Lubin (1805-1850). Saint-Lubin was a teacher of the violin as well as Kapellmeister at the Königstadt theatre in Berlin for many years. He composed a fair amount of music which included operas, violin concerti and chamber music.
Violinist Anastasia Khitruk and pianist Elizaveta Kopelman recorded, among other chamber works, Saint-Lubin’s Grand Duo, Op. 49 and the Salon Pieces, Op. 47. Anastasia Khitruk has established a reputation for performing little-known works, such as the music of Ivan Khandoshkin (Naxos 8.570028) and Miklós Rózsa's (Naxos 8.570350).
The recording sessions took place from June 11 to 13 at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, Canada, and were produced and engineered by Norbert Kraft and Bonnie Silver.
